This is a letter written by Arthur Dowty – one of Sir George’s elder brothers.

This letter was written in September 1985 – when Arthur was 92 years of age and is entitled Edwardian Pershore.

He was living at the time in Broadway.

The letter was published in a booklet called Pershore Remembers – edited by the Revd Martin Combs – sometime Vicar of Pershore who served from 1977 until 1992.

We have obtained his permission to reproduce the letter.
