An Event in Pershore
Arrangements for the Dowty Organ Recital at Pershore Abbey are proceeding smoothly – refreshments at the end of the event have now been added.
The town is associated with Sir George as it was his birthplace, he attended the grammar school and he is buried there as is his twin brother.
He financed the altar rail in the Abbey and there is a blue plaque in the town in his name.
The programme for the day is attached.
This is once in a lifetime opportunity to honour Sir George Dowty in the most magnificent of surroundings – the organist has world renown.
