Rover V8 powered Dowty Turbocraft

During the 1970s I owned a standard Dowty Turbocraft

When three up, everyone had to stand up and lean forward over the windscreen to get on the plain!

I fitted a Zodiac Head & Carburettor – but only a small improvement.

I was an old farm mechanic and did a lot of research of the power needed for a 2 Stage Jet – answer lots more HP and Torque and less weight = Rover Alloy V8 = total
transformation of the boat!

I did all the work myself near Oxford.
