Roger Howse started his working life as an Apprentice at Rotol in 1954 and on completion he left to work at Gloster Saro.
In 1967 he re-joined the Dowty Group at Dowty Fuel Systems, Arle Court.
During this time he was an Apprentice Instructor (at Smiths) for about 18 months, before he worked on the RB199 and other projects.
He recalls his involvement with sports, including football, where at Rotol, he played for the U18 Team in 1956.
He also talks about playing squash, along with other social activities such as Bridge, Chess and Draughts at the Sports & Social Club.
Roger also talks about his memories of the Dowty Motor Club and some of the people that he used to work with.
In 1988 he decided to take voluntary redundancy from DFS but for a short while after, decided to join Smiths as a Tester but this did not last long and he finally retired.
