Albert Pettit worked at Dowty Rotol from 1982 to 1999 and was the Plating Shop Superintendent, in this interview he shares his memories from the days he worked there.

Before joining Dowty, Albert talks about his work in Ireland at Are Lingus during the time of the “troubles” and its affect it had on family life.

He recalls having an influence on improving the health and safety for the workers in the Plating Shop soon after going Rotol.

Albert recalls some of the improvements he also made to the cost effectiveness of the plating processes.

Albert talks about how he became the chairman of the Sports & Social Club at Arle Court in the early days, introducing a Management Committee with new rules and regulations.

He talks about  the poor employee sickness record in the Plating Shop which always seem to coincide with the Elver Season!

Albert recalls the time he spent 3-months on shifts.
