• Hello Dudley, many thanks for the comments regarding the date, we found the 1976 with the photographs, as this is could be incorrect, could you advise on possible date please and I will amend the post? Kind regards, John

• I doubt that this was 1976 as the Dowty stand at the Electra Mining Exhibitions was sited outdoors under the Tower of Light at what is now part of Wits University. The 1980 exhibition was also at the Wits site.
  I was with Dowty South Africa from it’s inception until 1992
