I quite agree with Ray. While I was working for Thames Valley Systems, we designed and built the prototype head end electronics for Ameeco to sea test cables. This was around 1983, and was based around the Apple 2e computer.

I think it is disingenuous not to record that 2031’s wet end (and terminal unit) was designed and developed by Ameeco Hydrospace (later bought by Plessey Naval Systems). This is for 2031I, 2031Z and their many predecessors, mostly for submarines. The design/development was carried out at Erith with a production facility at Andover, which produced the first 6 productions of 2031Z. I led the design team at Erith and wrote the development and production cost plans.
