We have had a message through this website from Tieman Bosma in the Netherlands.
“At the moment we restore Classic tractors with is fitted with a Dowty Taurodyne Transmission. We like to know if someone can provide us with any information, documents, parts, technical details etc. Also contact to former employees who could tell us how to proceed would be very nice.”

Geoff Onions Repairs Controller DHU served 1968 to 2000 when the company had become Ultra Hydraulics
I was a Dowty Craft Apprentice from 1964 -1969 and worked in the test house at Arle Court about 1967 with a top man CALLED Reg Greatbanks.
One day we were told to go to Brockhampton park to repair a Dowty Taurodyne Unit which had broken down, when fitted to a Eicher tractor, which was pulling a 8 furrow plough in a field, opposite the park.
We worked all day on it and well into the evening to get it repaired because the next day, potential customers were coming.
Finally we got it working and Charles Irvine (Director) gave us a slap up meal before going home.
We were back at Brockhampton the next day, just to make sure everything went ok; it did.
Another lovely meal was laid on for us in the evening.
Great memories.
I also think they used the Taurodyne unit in a Hillman Imp car
Worked on nearly all of these in DHU repair department including the Vardis pump which I don’t think was mentioned
