Dowty Apprentice Association

The Dowty Apprenticeship scheme saw hundreds of apprentices being taken on by the Dowty Group each year, these apprentices were spread all over the Dowty Group.

During the 1960’s, the Dowty Apprentices created their own Apprentice Association and organised many social and sporting events.

These documents provide an insight into the Dowty Apprentice Association and its administration with the Dowty Group, bear in mind, that this was in the days long before computers, all documents were type written memorandums and many decisions had to be approved at Board level.

The Dowty Apprentice Association even had its own news magazine, DAN (Dowty Apprentice News).
